A bit about Hayley ...

Hi there ... my name is Hayley and I am registered with AHPRA (the Psychology Board) and the AAPi (the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc). I have gained valuable experience in the past ten years working initially at Queensland Corrective Services and then in three different private practices before deciding to open my own practice. I have worked with clients struggling with different, sometimes co-morbid presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, insomnia, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, suicide and self-harming behaviours, sexual abuse, and immigration issues.
I see myself as a deeply caring psychologist and I am keen to assist my clients in working towards their therapeutic goals and achieving their full potential. Although not qualified in the area, I have a growing interest in adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD.
I have had a rather long and colourful employment history in both clerical and secretarial services prior to becoming a psychologist, including a ten-year stint volunteering as a reservist in the South African Police Service (weekends) whilst my paid employment was working as a receptionist/bookkeeper for a paediatrician (Monday – Friday), and studying psychology in-between.
My current interests include sewing, knitting, overseas travel (especially cruising), and all things bridal. I am the proud mum of two gorgeous puppies. I have achieved two of my four goals so far: visiting Russia (1989) and becoming a psychologist (2011). I have yet to achieve my third and last goal which is to (briefly) play on a pipe organ in a cathedral (or similar). Sadly, I have had to abandon by last goal (riding a motor cycle) simply because life (and age) caught up with me.
Thank you for visiting my website, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything I can help you with.
